Catching Up

I feel bad about not blogging. I do. Really. Hi Yarddawg!

So now I can play catch-up with a lot of the photos that I took on my phone but never made it to the blog.

Hillville, VA- Labor Day Weekend

Every Labor Day weekend, there is a HUGE Flea market in Hillsville, VA. I found this aerial view on the internet from Old West Photos. The market covers over a square mile with lots of great food and cool "stuff." I was there from 9am-5pm and still only saw about 75%. I was tired and hungry (lots of fair-type food, not a lot of WW friendly meals) and looked forward to sitting in the car for the 55-minute drive home.

Here are just a few of the things that I thought were neat.

This is a sofa that was made out of an old coca cola cooler. If I had $1000 and a truck, this would be in my house right now.

This was a fully restored 60s VW Bus Camper. My husband really wants one of these but they do not come cheap. It was not for sale, thankfully, because if I had $10k for the bus and another $1k for the coca-sofa, I would have been set.

As I said, food was not very healthy. If I was not watching my weight, I would have eaten one of these homemade doughnuts from some Mennonites who made the giants in front of you. After being dunked in sugarry goodness, they are hung on pegs to dry. Yum!

I left spending less than $20 on some magic carpet cleaner (it TOTALLY works!), a bee catcher, and a fun day in the sun.
