Attn: Those in Charge of Jury Duty

As I am driving to work in ths morning, I notice that there is a long line standing outside the courthouse. This is the line for jurors who have been asked to report to duty. It seems to me, that there should be an inside area for these people to wait when the temperature is, say, 27 degrees outside.

I have been contacted for jury duty but have never had to serve, or even stand in that line. My number has never come up. My husband was chosen for a jury about four years ago. It was an armed robbery and the evidence was pretty clear. However, his fellow jurors were avid fans of CSI and wanted more forensic evidence. There wasn't any. There was no need for DNA testing. There were several eye witnesses and the robber was caught quickly, with the evidence on him.

The VP of our company lives in Dallas and was chosen to serve on a murder trail. We thought that it would be weeks before we heard from him again. The trail was complete in 2 days.

It is interesting how television can affect real life when it comes to court procedings.

  1. Were they dressed appropriately? I mean, in a manner befitting the courtroom, not for the weather. =)

  2. Some were dressed for the weather, others were not. Obviously there are people who do not read your blog. Maybe that would be a good addition to the Journal. What Not to Wear...
