Dear Man Who Hit My NEW Car on Friday

Today I called your insurance company and they had no record of the claim. While you were very nice at the scene of the accident, I would have appreciated it if you had called your insurance company right away so that I would not have to wait another day for your insurance adjuster to come look at the damage. While my car is "driveable," I would prefer not to drive it in its current state.

I am frustrated with you.

  1. Brace yourself. Been there, done that and have one too many tea shirts.

  2. I hate the whole "body work" process. You get an estimate but then drive home b/c they have to order the part. You take it back -- they keep it for a few days. You have to get a rental (unless you have a third car) AND you have to enlist a friend to help get you to that car. Pain in the rear.

I hope the process has smoothed out for you by now.

  3. $4489.00 worth of damage plus I will get a check from the insurance company for depreciation of value, accourding to the appraisal.

The parts were ordered yesterday so the car will be in the shop for about 2 weeks. I've done everything I can do on my end. Now, I just wait.

  4. My wife once had her new car (maybe two weeks old?) hit -- trust that once you get it back it will look as good as new.
