Hunt Behind Me

The Second Scene in Winston-Salem Scavenger Hunt was a success!
Mother Nature was kind to us and we had a beautiful spring day. We had 68 teams this year, 15 more than last year. The winning team was from Raleigh, which just goes to show that you do not need to know anything about downtown Winston-Salem to do well in the Scavenger Hunt.

We raised $4500 for the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, almost double of what we did last year thanks to Erin Winters at Made to Order, who donated the Scene in Winston-Salem recyclable bags for all of the participants. We can not be more thankful.

Great clues, great destinations, great teams, great weather and one of my favorite parts...THE COSTUMES!

There were hundreds of spectators of the Hunt this year, including participants in the Lofty Ideas Tour and a music convention in town. There is nothing more entertaining that walking from one swanky loft to another and encountering Hula girls running past you. (I love the fact that their water bottles were plastic pineapples. These girls can totally rock these outfits.)

The team that won the costume contest gave homage to the city. Displaying t-shirts that look like Winston and Salem cigarettes, the Surgeon General Warning on the back states "We Will Smoke You," which was the team's name.

Another cosume favorite was Team GPS: Girls Posing as Spies
I loved this costume/t-shirt because of the inclusion of airbrushing, realistic heads on stick people, and a map of downtown. These ladies kept me smiling.

Finally, these ladies went all out with the outfits and the wigs. Note the attention to detail with the Scooby doll and the guys heads on a stick. :)

Lots of great team names to vote for on our Web site.
We look forward to next year, but for now, I rest...
