Honoring our WWII Veterans: D-Day Honor Trip - 70th Anniversary - June 6, 2014

 
Rotary District 7690 will lead a Triad area event to take these brave WWII veterans to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia (www.dday.org) on Friday, June 6th, which will mark the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. The reason that the memorial is located in Bedford, VA is because the community of Bedford lost more soldiers per capita than any other community in the United States during the invasion.

The Rotary's greatest challenge will be to identify these deserving veterans in the Triad area.  Their goal is that every WWII veteran that wants to go should go on this one day all expensed paid trip.
