The DMV for the D-U-M-B

I had to go to the DMV today because my license expires tomorrow. Before going to the DMV. I went to their Web site and found out what items I needed to bring with me for a license renewal.
1. Current License
2. Checkbook

I also needed to get my motorcycle permit (for my 150cc scooter) and was able to view the study manual online. I read the 46 page manual through once, because I have actually been riding for a while, but wanted to familiarize myself with the DMV language. (I passed! Wahoo!)

The thing that surprised me was the amount of time that people were willing to wait, even if they were not prepared to be there. No picture ID, no other forms of identification, not having studied for the test. People who think that they are entitled to a license, just because they showed up.

On a side note, I found the DMV expereince to be a good one. I was in and out, without an appointment, in approximately 30 minutes. That included taking my motorcycle "written" test on a computer. The people working there were kind and in good spirits and I appreciated it.
